Gameplay Help and Discussion - Essence farming SSF - Forum - Path of Exile (2024)

So I didn't play last league. Between that and this league the changes are VAST..

Basically I need the *SSF* strategy that works best to farm as many essences/hr

I've taken all the Atlas nodes, im running a t6 map and I'm playing dead eye.

It seems scrabs are a huge part of farming now and I'm trying to do the really old strat of syndicate where you only run 1 thing, transport for this, to get as many essence from korrel and scrabs from hillock as I can while doing essences in the map.

Is this it, is the something more, and I'm doing things wrong. All ideas and help are appreciated

If you want the corrupted ones - Vaal Temple can drop them maybe, not sure.

I'll have to look into log books as I've never bothered with expedition before.

I'm just trying to farm up 1-200 deafening essences of hate/wrath/angar to roll a nice bow and waant sure if mapping was still the most efficient anymore due to essence changes and not being able to get defending by default.

Is using 'Deafening' actually efficient? 'Shrieking' arent much worse and you get 3 rolls over 1 roll. Unless maybe if you got a fractured bow already.

Other options you have:

Rog can give better bow than Essences without fracture. But you may need a lot of rolls/RNG.

Also the league mechanic ones which dont really cost you anyting extra. Dont know if these are useful for Ele bow though:

League mechanic: Faustus.

League mechanic: Shipping, see here for 'Dex' Weapons: https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Kingsmarch#Rewards

League mechanic: Recombinator. This is supposedly super nerfed though, no idea if useful here, my guess is dont bother.

So my understanding is you spam def. Wrath/hate/anger untill you get essence mod+ a t1 of another element then fracture it hopping to hit one of the two then spam more essence...

Am I totally wrong in my method?

Not necessarily. If you aim that high then 'Deafening' may indeed be the better choice.
My guess would have been that the Fracturing Orb/s are the harder part to farm though.

Being that you only need 1-3 orbs and they can be passively farmed while farming essences, and you need 200++ essences if you're unlucky. No they are not the harder part

Tho, I am by no means an expert crafter and if there are better way to go about this I'd love tips/critcisms

Maybe Im unlucky with 'Fracturing Shards' then...

Anyway about the Logbooks: Scrublands is best for the Essences: https://poedb.tw/us/Expedition_Logbook#Areas (Doesnt change that I dont know if this is efficient or not.)
