[OpenWrt Wiki] GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (2024)

The GL-MT3000 ships on a fork of Openwrt with a custom web UI. You can upgrade to official Openwrt from the GL.iNet web UI by flashing a sysupgrade image as follows.

  • Connect your computer to the *lan* port of the router.

  • See the GL.iNet website for details for getting into Uboot.

  • Alternatively, if you have a serial cable, you can type “gl” during the 2 sec pause in the boot to enter the bootloader, then type “httpd” to start the web interface.

  • Set your computer's IP address to 192.168.1.2. You might also have manually set the default route or gateway.

  • Upload the factory firmware for *Uboot*

Basic configuration After flashing, proceed with this.
Set up your Internet connection, configure wireless, configure USB port, etc.

Numbers 0-3 are Ports 1-4 as labeled on the unit, number 4 is the Internet (WAN) on the unit, 5 is the internal connection to the router itself. Don't be fooled: Port 1 on the unit is number 3 when configuring VLANs. vlan0 = eth0.0, vlan1 = eth0.1 and so on.
