Around four equity mutual fund categories have offered more than 20% in a 10-year horizon, according to data pulled out by ACE MF. These categories offered returns ranging between 20.22% - 22.98% during the same period.

Smallcap funds were the toppers

Smallcap funds offered an average return of around 22.98% in 10 years. There were 11 small cap schemes that have completed 10 years of existence. Nippon India Small Cap Fund offered the highest return of around 28.15% and Aditya Birla Sun Life Small Cap Fund offered the lowest return of around 18.65%.

Energy & Power funds score second place

Energy & Power theme-based funds scored second place and offered an average return of around 21.03% in 10 years. There were around 2 schemes that have completed 10 years of existence. DSP Natural Res & New Energy Fund gave 21.12% and Nippon India Power & Infra Fund offered 20.94%.

Midcap Funds

Midcap funds offered an average return of around 20.85% in a 10-year horizon. There were 20 mid cap schemes that have completed 10 years in the market. Edelweiss Midcap Fund gave the highest return of around 23.21%. PGIM India Midcap Opportunities Fund gave the lowest return of 18.28%.

Infrastructure Funds

Infrastructure sector-based funds gave an average return of 20.22% in 10 years. There were 18 infrastructure funds that have completed 10 years in the market. Quant Infrastructure Fund gave the highest return of 25.18%. HDFC Infrastructure Fund gave the lowest return of 16.73% during the same period.
