What Is Visa Infinite?

Visa Infinite represents the highest level of benefits possible for a Visa-labeled credit card. There are three benefit tiers in total: Traditional is the starter level with Signature in the middle, and Infinite at the top.

Those tier levels don’t represent a finite limit—pun intended—on the benefits you’ll receive. Instead, they’re more like a starting point because some credit card issuers may throw in a few optional extras or not offer every single benefit.

How Do I Know if I Have a Visa Infinite Credit Card?

If you have a Visa Infinite or Visa Signature card, it will almost always say so on the credit card itself. If your Visa card doesn’t say Infinite or Signature on it, it’s most likely a Traditional card. You can confirm which level of benefits you have by reading your credit card agreement.

What Are the Benefits of a Visa Infinite Credit Card?

You can expect the following standard benefits from a Visa Infinite credit card, although to receive those benefits in relation to any given purchase, that purchase must have been made with your Visa Infinite card. Offers vary, so be sure to check your card’s guide to benefits.

Purchase Benefits

  • Zero liability protection. You won’t be held responsible for fraudulent or unauthorized charges made with your Visa card.
  • Purchase security. If an eligible item is stolen or damaged within 90 days of purchase, the card’s purchase security will repair or replace the item.
  • Extended warranty protection. Get an extra year of warranty protection for eligible purchases, if the original manufacturer’s warranty is three years or less.
  • Return protection. If you’re dissatisfied with a purchase within 90 days but the merchant won’t accept a return, return protection has you covered—although some limits and exclusions do apply.

Emergency Assistance

  • Travel and emergency assistance services. Access a 24-hour, multilingual call center to help coordinate emergency assistance, anywhere in the world.
  • Roadside dispatch. This service isn’t free—you’ll pay a set price per service call—but the phone dispatchers will stay on the line with you while they arrange for help from a reputable locksmith or tow truck driver.
  • Emergency card replacement. Visa will work with the issuing bank to dispatch a replacement card to you within 24 to 72 hours.
  • Emergency cash disbursem*nt. Get cash wired to your local Western Union within two hours of approval from your bank.

Travel Benefits

  • Trip cancellation/trip interruption reimbursem*nt. If your trip is canceled or interrupted, get reimbursed for the non-refundable portion of a plane, train, ferry, cruise or bus travel fare.
  • Lost luggage reimbursem*nt. Get reimbursed for the value of luggage that was lost or stolen while traveling on an airline.
  • Trip delay reimbursem*nt. Up to $500 in reimbursem*nt if you’re delayed for at least 6 hours by a covered reason.
  • Auto rental collision damage waiver. Coverage for damage, theft, and reasonable towing and loss-of-use charges when renting a car.
  • Travel accident insurance. Get $500,000 of accidental death and dismemberment coverage for ticketed travel such as on a plane, train, ferry or bus.

Exclusive Perks

  • Free or discounted memberships. Get complimentary or discounted membership periods for services like Shipt, Sofar, Skillshare and more.

  • Visa Infinite concierge service. Get 24/7 access to a live, high-touch personal assistant to help you arrange travel, restaurant reservations, event tickets and more.

  • Priority Pass lounge membership. Access to more than 1,300 airline lounges around the world.

  • Emergency evacuation. If you are sick or injured, get up to $10,000 for emergency transport to the nearest medical facility.
  • Price protection. If you buy something that appears in a print advertisem*nt for a lower cost, get reimbursed for the difference in price.

How To Get a Visa Infinite Card

High-benefit credit cards come with high credit requirements. In this case, you’ll need excellent credit to qualify for any of the Visa Infinite credit cards already mentioned. But even if your credit isn’t excellent right now, don’t give up: Anything you can do to work toward—or maintain—great credit will help you toward that goal.

Some of the key ingredients for building excellent credit include consistently paying all your bills on time, keeping your credit utilization at or below 30% of your total credit limit, only applying for credit you really need, and using credit over time to demonstrate your consistency. You should also fact-check your credit reports and dispute any errors to make sure they are corrected.
