How does Zelle work with M&T bank?
To receive money, just share your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number with a friend and ask them to send you money with Zelle. U.S. checking or savings account required to use Zelle®. Transactions between enrolled consumers typically occur in minutes.

Enter the amount you want to send. If your recipient is already enrolled with Zelle®, the money will go directly into their bank account, typically in minutes. If they aren't enrolled yet, they will get a notification explaining how to receive the money simply and quickly.
Someone sent me money with Zelle®, how do I receive it? If you have already enrolled with Zelle®, you do not need to take any further action. The money will move directly into your bank account associated with your profile, typically within minutes1.

How to Get Your Money Back. Zelle is processing each scam claim they receive on a case-by-case basis. If you haven't already done so, file a claim directly with Zelle through their app or by phone (844-428-8542). You'll also need to file a claim with the bank or credit union your funds were taken.
What is the transfer limit for M&T bank?
The combined limit for inbound and outbound transfers is $2,000 per day and $5,000 within any 30 day period. To begin, simply log in to M&T Online Banking and, under the Payments and Transfers menu, navigate to Bank to Bank Transfers.

Both of the payment services are decently safe, have user-friendly interfaces, and allow you to conveniently send money when you need it. Money sent with Zelle® is typically available to an enrolled recipient within minutes. If it has been more than three days, we recommend confirming that you have fully enrolled your Zelle® profile, and that you entered the correct email address or U.S. mobile number and provided this to the sender.
If you do not see the transaction pending in your Zelle activity, you will need to check your Zelle settings to make sure the same U.S. mobile number and/or email address your friend used to send you money is enrolled in your Zelle account.
If your bank or credit union offers Zelle®, please contact them directly to learn more about their sending and receiving limits through Zelle®. If your bank or credit union does not yet offer Zelle®, your weekly send limit is $500 and your weekly receive limit is $5,000 in the Zelle® app.

Ask for the recipient's Zelle email address — not a phone number. Spotting typos in email addresses is easier (and more obvious) than identifying incorrect digits in a phone number. How do I send Zelle to someone?
- Sign on and select Transfer and Pay on the desktop or Pay & Transfer on the mobile app.
- Select Zelle®.
- Select Send.
- Select the recipient.
- Enter the amount.
- Select Review.

Why? Your mobile number or email address may already be enrolled with a bank or credit union that offers Zelle®. In order to enroll with a different bank or credit union, or in the Zelle® app, your mobile number or email address must be removed from where it was initially enrolled.
Initially, you'll use your online banking username and password to link your bank account to the Zelle® app. After you're enrolled, you'll use your Zelle® password to log into the Zelle® app. You can also use Touch ID or Fingerprint to log in if your phone offers that feature.
